Good morning XXXX, and thanks for your enquiry.

We can write your CV for any specific sector you choose, but to achieve maximum effect and give you the best possible chance of success in obtaining an interview, it does need to be targeted at one sector or role. That said, a CV for the Construction industry can be more generic, with some fairly simple adjustments to the baseline CV to change emphasis to Electrical Contractor (say), Project Manager or Design Engineer. However, as you will appreciate, Facilities Management, while utilising and highlighting the same skills sets, will require a quite different focus.

When you become a client of Armed Forces CVs/Top Professional Resumes, you are a Client for life, and we very much adopt the ‘lifetime value’ approach. So existing clients can get new or rewritten CVs at any time for a flat £75 each, regardless of how many they require, in perpetuity. This may be of interest in the circumstances.

Hope it helps, XXXX, but please don’t hesitate to come back to me if you need more information.

Best regards

Hello,

I am currently a WO2 Clerk of Works (Electrical) in the Royal Engineers and considering leaving the army very soon. My experience as a Clerk of Works over the last 12 years has been mainly in Property Management and Construction Site Management both on Operations and in UK.

My qualifications are HND Building Services (Electrical) and I have other quals such as Electrician RE (City & Guilds), Authorised Person (Mechanical, Electrical & Petroleum)& City & Guilds Electrical Testing & Inspection 17 Edition.

I currently do not know the exact line of work to go into whether it be Facilities Management, or some form of electrical engineering such as a Project Manager or Design Engineer.

Would your CV service be able to reflect my experience whichever avenue I choose.

Good morning XXXX

Thanks for your enquiry through the website.

In answer to your question, yes, we can certainly provide what you require. We have a Client in Os at the moment (ex-RLC), but he is coming the other way!

As you have correctly identified, you will need 2 distinctly different CVs. We have many clients in a similar position, largely because they are not absolutely certain what career to pursue on leaving. However they have usually identified a couple of generic areas they want to, or are qualified to, work in, such as, for example ICT and Project Management.

Once you become a client, subsequent rewrites or new CVs are charged at a flat rate of £75 each, as we already have a good deal of core data, and I have already spent significant time analysing the nuances of your character and career while writing the original. You simply decide which you require first. You don’t pay for the additional CV until you are happy with the first, and/or you have identified a suitable additional/alternative vacancy or opportunity; it is a lifetime price guarantee.

Hope it helps XXXX, but please don’t hesitate to come back to me if you need more information.

Best regards

Hi XXXX

Thanks for your enquiry.

No problem explaining your role. Although I don’t have direct knowledge of specific RE trades and roles, my military background is broad enough, and my database wide enough to get a handle on any role fairly easily. In addition to this, you complete a detailed questionnaire when you become a client, which gives me the information I need. When you return that to me, I also ask for copies of CRs, commendations, course reports etc for exactly the reason you describe; to give your CV as strong and personalised focus as possible. The CV will sound as if you have written it personally, which is important when you get to interview.

Hope it helps, XXXX. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch should you need any more info.

Best regards

Hi XXXX – great to hear from somebody at [Unit]!

Thanks for your enquiry.

We can target your CV at any area of employment you wish; we have written several for émigrés to Oz and NZ, both to civilian employment and into their armed forces. I am currently working on one in fact.

The CV does need to be specifically targeted as you have correctly identified. So-called ‘generic’ CVs simply don’t work. We can aim it at a particular generic sector, such as engineering, or at a specific job (agricultural engineer). The way our package works though, it is relatively simple to amend the CV to suit once we have completed it. It is almost modular in construction (i.e you can move sections around and modify particular phrases to change the focus) and is delivered to you in a number of editable formats to cope with any type of application process. In addition, once you have your initial CV, rewrites and/or completely new CVs are charged at a flat £75 each, regardless how many you need. When you become a client of Top Professional Resumes/Armed Forces CVs, you are a client for life as far as we’re concerned, and I am always personally available to service peeps for advice by email or phone.

Simple modifications and updates such as adding qualifications obtained during resettlement can be done at no charge when the time comes. There would be a nominal charge for sending out new ‘hard copies’ if required, but most clients simply use the digital files sent by email to produce what they need.

The service also includes a professional cover letter at the moment in our ‘raft’ of bonuses. This is another element of incredible importance to get right; most of my clients have indicated that it is this deceptively simple one-page document that snagged the interview for them. It is certainly of equal weight to the CV in an initial application, which is why some companies charge up to £150 for the cover letter alone.

Finally, the service is very much an open-ended commitment from us when you initiate it. Once purchased, the CV can be taken next week, next year or five years from now, with the benefit of the price being locked in at the time of purchase. We don’t commence work until you return your documentation to us, and following first draft (which is usually produced within 5 – 7 days of receipt of docs), you don’t need to move to completion until you have your resettlement done and you’re ready to start job-hunting in earnest. The whole thing is entirely under your control.

Hope it helps, XXXX, but please don’t hesitate to come back to me if you need any more info.

Best regards

Hello,

I have two questions, I have some very strong CR's behind be and my career in the army is doing very well, could the CR's be incorporated into the CV? and do you know what a Resources Specialist in the Royal Engineers actually does? because I still cant even explain it to my wife!

Good morning, I am currently serving in the RAF as an ICT Manager. I am looking at the possibility if emigrating to Australia and would require two flavours of CV, one aimed at obtaining a career in the Australian Air Force or Defence department. The second aimed at a civialan employer. Can you tell me if you would be able to meet my requirement?

[Response posted late; actually done the same day the enquiry received]

Hi Graham

Thanks for your enquiry. The AFCV is not service-specific; I have many RN Clients. Indeed a couple of the testimonials on the website are from Navy chaps, A WO2 Intelligence Specialist and a Lt Cdr Weapons and Electronic Warfare Officer.

Turnaround time is normally 5 – 7 business days from receipt of completed docs, but I can sometimes move it up in case of need. Just let me know what you need and I will have a look at it.

Best regards
